CBCN LAUNCHES NATIONWIDE PRAYER CAMPAIGN FOR TINUBU AHEAD OF 2027

Abuja, Nigeria | 31st October 2026

The Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) is set to inaugurate a nationwide prayer and Church-to-Church mobilisation campaign in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 2027 re-election aspiration.

The historic inauguration, scheduled for Sunday, 1st November 2026, at 2:00 PM, will take place at the Royal Choice Auditorium, National Christian Centre, Abuja.

The initiative, themed "TOGETHER WE WILL WIN!", follows the Conference's 2026 Synod, where its leadership formally adopted a position of support for President Tinubu's second-term ambition.

The programme is designed to activate the Conference's ecclesiastical structures and establish a coordinated framework for nationwide prayer, church engagement, political advocacy and responsible democratic participation.

The inauguration will be led by the President General of CBCN, His Eminence, Archbishop Prof. Leonard Bature Kawas, alongside the Secretary General, His Grace, Archbishop (Dr.) Chivir Chianson.

The Conference anticipates the presence of Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as Special Guest of Honour.

Other distinguished invited personalities include His Excellency, Senator Dr. George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and His Excellency, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.

A major highlight will be the unveiling of the Nigerian National Prayer Handbook, authored by Archbishop Prof. Leonard Bature Kawas, to facilitate coordinated prayers for national leadership, peace, security and development.

The Conference says its nationwide mobilisation will extend across Christian congregations and denominational networks in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The CBCN maintains that the Church has an important responsibility to contribute to national development through prayer, moral guidance, peaceful political participation and constructive engagement with leadership.

The Conference invites the clergy, Christian faithful, media organisations, political stakeholders and members of the public to attend the inauguration.

TOGETHER WE WILL WIN!
