ABUJA -
The Labour Party has disowned Ms. Oluchi Oparah, who has been parading herself as the party's National Women Leader.
In a statement signed by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, the Labour Party declared that Ms. Oparah was suspended indefinitely in November 2023 for anti-party activities.

"Her suspension is still subsisting," the statement read. "She was never the National Women Leader of the party and has never contested for the position."
The party alleged that Ms. Oparah has been using her false title to extort organizations, causing embarrassment to the Labour Party.

"We alert organizations, including IPAC, The Kukah Foundation, NGOs, and security agencies, to be aware of her dubious activities," the statement warned.
The Labour Party emphasized that its authentic National Women Leader is Mrs. Dudu Manuga, who is constitutionally mandated to oversee the activities of the party's women.

"We urge anyone or organization being approached by the impostor to contact the police immediately," the party stated.
This development comes amidst concerns over the rise of impersonation and fraudulent activities in Nigerian politics.
