At a stakeholders' reconciliation meeting, Sowunmi emphasized the importance of coming together under one umbrella, and it seems all support groups and factions are on board.
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour |
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Lagos State Labour Party gubernatorial candidate, also acknowledged that every political party faces challenges.
However, he highlighted the party's willingness to work together and find a political solution to their issues.
This unity is essential, as a divided house can never stand, and the party doesn't want to win any victory without being united.
Dr Yunusa Tanko |
Moreover, Yunusa Tanko, the chief spokesman of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Organisation, stressed the need for electoral reform.
He advocates for adopting the Uwais Electoral report to ensure free and fair elections in 2027.
This reform should address INEC's independence and the judiciary's impartiality, ensuring credible elections for all Nigerians, regardless of their background.

- Constitutional Amendments: Insulate INEC from executive influence and make its funding a first-line charge on the Consolidated Revenue of the Federation.

- Electoral Reforms: Implement measures to minimize violence and rigging, and build lasting democratic institutions and culture.
