In a thrilling display of skill and determination, MOP Stars FC Academy, Nigeria's representatives at the upcoming 2025 Dana World Youth Tournament in Denmark, took on EFCC FC in a buildup match at the Tuff Arena, Area 3 Mini Stadium.
Despite a narrow 1-0 loss to the more experienced EFCC side, the young MOP Stars team earned praise from fans, football enthusiasts, and dignitaries alike for their fearless and impressive performance.
Former FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Aliyu Tijani, who declared the match open, commended the youngsters, urging them to remain focused on their football careers.
She lauded the leadership of MOP Stars FC Academy for nurturing talented young players within a short period.
"I'm impressed by the team's spirit and determination," Dr. Tijani said. "For a team barely five months old, they've shown remarkable resilience.
I consider this a win for the young players, and I expect more support from sports agencies to encourage them."
Dr. Suleiman Adejoh, President of MOP Stars FC Academy, praised the team's courage and fighting spirit. "We're preparing them for the Dana tournament, where 50 nations will compete. We'll be camping for two months before the tournament."
MOP Stars FC Academy has recorded notable wins in recent matches, including a 4-2 victory over FC Gwagwalada and a 3-1 win over One World FC.
Their preparations are underway, with a two-month training camp scheduled before the tournament.
The 2025 Dana World Youth Tournament in Denmark promises to be an exciting platform for young footballers to showcase their talents, and MOP Stars FC Academy is ready to make Nigeria proud.
